Steffenson Carpentry believes that planning for sustainability requires a systematic, integrated approach that brings together environmental, economic and social sustainability goals. We strive towards meeting these goals where ever possible, by implementing the following:
Reducing dependence upon fossil fuels, extracted underground metals and minerals. (By, wherever possible, promoting the use of solar power, efficient insulating materials and wood-burning heating systems)
Reducing dependence on chemicals and other manufactured substances that can accumulate in nature. (By eliminating, as far as possible, the use of synthetic materials harmful to the ecology)
Reducing dependence on activities that harm life-sustaining ecosystems. (by using, wherever possible, sustainable harvested lumber)
